FTIR analysis (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy)
A technique for characterising materials based on the interaction between infrared light and the molecules in a sample.
FTIR analysis is based on the measurement of the absorption spectrum of the sample in the infrared range and, by detecting the vibrations characteristic of chemical bonds, makes it possible to analyse the chemical functions present in the material.
By measuring the infrared wave frequencies absorbed by the sample, we can obtain information about the chemical structure of the molecules that make it up.
FTIR analysis can be used to determine chemical composition, molecular structure, identify functional groups, study impurities and contaminants, and detect molecular interactions.
